The Onboarding Process

Onboarding is the 14-Day Launch (Step 1): a one-time, fixed-scope, fixed-price engagement that builds your platform and cuts over to live operations. It runs in parallel with your live product, with zero disruption — nothing breaks while we work.

Everything we build here is yours. The Platform is instantiated during these two weeks as Infrastructure-as-Code, documentation, and dashboards — assets you keep forever, even if you never sign the retainer.

The timeline

  1. Kickoff & access

    We agree the points of contact, set up the shared communication channel (Teams or Slack), and receive scoped access to the cloud account/subscription, the cluster, and the repositories.

  2. Audit deep-dive (Day 5)

    The Platform Audit & Scorecard lands. It confirms the scope tier and the target architecture, and prioritizes what we harden first.

  3. Build the infrastructure

    We codify the foundation as Infrastructure-as-Code on your chosen cloud — networking, identity, data stores, DNS/TLS — provisioned reproducibly with Terraform/OpenTofu.

  4. Stand up containerization & CI/CD

    We bring up the Kubernetes layer and wire in CI/CD — a build-and-verify pipeline on your VCS and GitOps delivery with ArgoCD, including safe, automated rollbacks.

  5. Observability & security baseline

    We deploy the Grafana observability stack with live, shared dashboards, and apply the security-hardening baseline — continuous patching, automated scanning, secrets management.

  6. Cutover to live operations

    We move the platform to live, DCF-led operations. From this point on you’re in The Operation.

To keep the two weeks moving, we need:

  • Scoped access to the cloud, cluster, and repos (read-write for the build, agreed up front).
  • Points of contact on your side for decisions and approvals.
  • A shared channel (Teams or Slack) where we work in the open.

  • Complete documentation of the platform — no longer trapped in one person’s head.

After cutover: Hypercare

The Launch includes 30 days of post-launch Hypercare — we stay glued to the platform through stabilization before the cadence settles into the steady-state Operation.
